July 2017 RESERVE WINE PAIRINGS

$135 PER GUEST

arrival wine

MV Copinet Champagne, Brut, Extra Quality, Vallée de la Marne, France

Pairing Notes: This stunning glass is brought to you from one of our favorite Grower Producers. When Marie and Alex were visiting here in the States, there were 3 people running the winery back home. This phenomenal start to the evening is a blend of Pinot Noir, Meunier, and Chardonnay. The glass features notes of baked apple, lemon rind, and soft yeast.

first course

2015 Captûre Sauvignon Blanc, Les Pionniers, Sonoma County & Lake County

Pairing Notes: Here we have a refreshing and complex Sauvignon Blanc to battle the heat of summer. The nose highlights tropical fruits and has a clean citrus backbone to complement the tangy Chèvre cheese flan.

second course

2013 Solomon Hills Chardonnay, Santa Maria Valley

Pairing Notes: For this ‘antojito’ of a course, we’re showcasing a luscious wine that offers a core of Meyer lemon, apple blossoms, and wet rocks that all linger on the nose. The wine is beautiful, tart, and tangy to give way to the limon crema and spiced pepitas.

third course

2016 End of Nowhere Carbonic Macerated Zinfandel, Phantom Limb, The Traiper Vineyard, Amador County

Pairing Notes: This wine takes a different approach to the famed peppery and jammy grape. This wine is a fun, fresh, and crisp wine. The palate is vibrant with red plums and red florals. It features a good, juicy finish that complements the tomato compote with fresh herbs.

fourth course

2011 Cave De Tain Syrah, Hermitage Rouge, Rhone, France

Pairing Notes: A lovely tenderloin should be accompanied by a Syrah of Hermitage. This one is a bold wine with lots of savory notes of black olive, cured meat, and bacon fat. Tart fruit with a high concentration of minerality makes it a perfect match with your steak.

dessert course

2013 Boony Doon Late Harvest Grenache Blanc, Vinferno, Beeswax Vineyard, Arroyo Seco

Pairing Notes: The wine is really lavish with quince and apricots, and as a pairing wine it hits the nail on the head. This glass features a nose of caramelized peaches and candied pineapple with a lift of succulent fruits on the palate, to make for a double sweet treat with your Sundae!
