June 2017 HOUSE WINE PAIRINGS

$85 PER GUEST

arrival wine

MV Copinet Champagne, Brut, Extra Quality, Vallée de la Marne, France

Pairing Notes: This stunning glass is brought to you from one of our favorite Grower Producers. When Marie and Alex were visiting here in the States, there were 3 people running the winery back home. This phenomenal start to the evening is a blend of Pinot Noir, Meunier, and Chardonnay. The glass features notes of baked apple, lemon rind, and soft yeast.

first course

2014 Lafken Riesling, Lo Ovalle, Casablanca, Chile

Pairing Notes: This delicious Riesling features aromas of petrol, accompanied by mineral tones. The wine shows bright acidity and is extremely well-balanced on the palate. The taste is crisp and refreshing with flavors of peach and ripe stone fruit. The minerality begs to be enjoyed with the tea-cured California Halibut.

second course

2014 Lassagne Gamay, Saint Amour, Cru Beaujolais, France

Pairing Notes: This is truly a delicious and fun wine. The nose if filled with red berries and purple flowers. On the palate, it features notes of rhubarb, pomegranate, red plum, and earth. The best part about this wine is that it is the perfect mate for the acorn ravioli, chanterelles, and parmesan.

third course

2014 Sandhi Chardonnay, Santa Barbara County

Pairing Notes: A beautiful and balanced expression of Chardonnay is exactly what this course calls for. Raj Parr and Sashi Moorman deliver with this glass that is leaner and crisper in style. The nose flaunts aromas of citrus flowers, limes, and lemons. The perfect pairing for your fried soft-shell crab!

fourth course

2013 Arrowood Cabernet Sauvignon, Knights Valley

Pairing Notes: This Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma is absolutely delicious. With notes of black forest fruit and spiced plum, caramel, and anise, it makes for a divine pairing with your tenderloin with smoked morels and bacon lardons. The wine finishes beautifully with rich tannins.

dessert course

2013 Skyhook Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc, Lake County

Pairing Notes: We finish the evening with a stunning dessert wine from a very small production, only 62 cases! Winemaker, Derek Beitler, delivers a glass filled with aromas of stone fruit and honeysuckle. The palate is mesmerizing with flavors of ripe nectarine and apricots, with a touch of honey. This is the perfect way to enjoy the Apricot and Frangipane Torte.
