arrival wine
MV Delamotte Champagne, Brut, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Cóte des Blancs, France
Pairing Notes: We are thrilled to begin the evening with bubbles from one of our favorite houses. This wine is predominantly grand cru Chardonnay. Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier are added to finish the personality of the wine. The finish is elegant and perfectly balanced with notes of white flesh fruit, pear, and ginger.
first course
2012 Bunan White Blend, ‘Moulin des Costes’, Provence, France
Pairing Notes: We present you with this beautiful Provencal wine made from Sauvignon Blanc, Bourboulenc, Ugni Blanc, and Clairette. Only 2% of Bandol wine is white, and Bunan produces 40% of that. The end result is this: almond aromatics followed by a caressing texture that is perfect for your first dish of bouillabaisse and Alaskan Halibut.
second course
2013 Mongeard Mugneret Pinot Noir, Les Vergelesses, 1er Cru, Pernand Vergelesses, France
Pairing Notes: This beauty is presented by Vincent Mongeard and is named after his grandfather, Eugene Mongeard, and after his grandmother, Edmée Mugneret. Aromas of raspberries, violets, and black currants are met with a fleshy, yet intense palate. Those same notes dance with the brandade tortellini and black garlic.
third course
2016 Eugene Meyer Pinot Gris, Alsace, France
Pairing Notes: This is easily one of our favorite producers- and they have been around since the 1700s. This certified biodynamic wine features notes of honeysuckle and orange flowers. The palate is subtle with notes of pineapple and sweet spices, which makes it a great accompaniment to your ash roasted white asparagus and Béarnaise.
fourth course
2009 Santa Carolina Carmenère, Herencia, Peumo, Cachapoal Valley, Chile
Pairing Notes: This is arguably one of the best Carmeneres to come from Chile. It features notes of dried plum, roasted cherry, and dark currant. The finish lingers with leather, vanilla, and cedar that are beautiful with the beef and morel mushrooms.
dessert course
2016 Kenzo Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc, ‘Muku’, Napa Valley
Pairing Notes: Kenzo Tsujimoto, founder of Capcom, waited for many years to assemble the best winemaking and viticulture team. Many years of patience came in the form of vineyard manager, David Abreu, and winemaker, Heidi Barrett. The wine is riddled with notes of honey and ripe apricot which are perfect with your strawberry shortcake dessert.
